SSFA WPL & Academy Trial Dates

Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) advises that trials for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Teams and the Girls Junior Academy Squads will be conducted at Harrie Dening Centre, Bates Drive, Kareela.
FNSW will be operating competitions for Women’s Representative Football in the following age groups:  U13, U15, U17, Reserves and Firsts across three Leagues (WPL1, WPL2 and WSL).
Trials have been set down for the following weeks by FNSW:
WPL1 trials will commence on Sunday 19 October and will need to be completed by Friday 31 October.
WPL2 trials will commence on Sunday 2 November and will need to be completed by Friday 14 November.

Specific times and dates for each age group are as specified on the SSFA website (www.shirefootball.com).

Note that Players trialling/selected for the Academy squads/programs will be required to meet residential and/or playing eligibility requirements as stipulated by FNSW and the SSFA

The SSFA will be conducting programs in the following Age Groups:

·         U13 Girls Academy

·         U13 Girls WPL Representative team

·         U14/15 Girls Academy

·         U15 Girls WPL Representative team

·         U17 Girls WPL Representative team

·         First and Reserve Grade (Opens) WPL Representative teams
                       
          

Eligibility Criteria for the SSFA Academy are as follows:

  • Players must return to and maintain registration at their 2014 club in 2015 if that Club has an A or B Grade team in that Players Age Group or if they played in an older age group and have an A or B Grade team in that Older Age Group
  • The player must be registered with an SSFA club whilst participating in the SSFA Academy.
  • Must meet current eligibility rules for Registration (in accordance with SSFA Rule 4.D) at the time of trialing.
  • Age restrictions do apply. That is, players must be turning the age of the SSFA Academy in which they are participating.

Failure to meet these guidelines will result in a loss of Academy place.

Regional Youth League Trial Dates

Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) advises that trials for the Boys Regional Youth Conference (RYC) Teams will be held at Harrie Dening Centre, Bates Drive, Kareela commencing the week beginning Sunday 16 November.  Trial Dates and Times by age group are as specified below.

SSFA advise that the Competition will be structured as follows:

  • Players participating in the SSFA RYC teams will be “dual registered” with their SSFA Club and the RYC team,
  • The season is expected to commence in April with Finals scheduled for September.
  • Matches are generally scheduled to be played on Sundays, with flexibility required. That is, the RYC team drawn to play at Home will determine if the RYC matches are to be played on Saturday or Sunday.
  • The RYC should not be used to form local Club “super teams”. Accordingly Eligibility requirements (noted below) have been mandated for players to participate in each RYC team.
  • Training will be one night per week (on a Monday night).
  • The Cost to participate in the RYC is yet to be finalized but should be between $600 and $700 per player for the season.

Training officially commences from Monday 17th March 2014. Some teams may choose to commence earlier however please be aware that cricket is allocated on the fields until that date.

Please ensure that you remain within the area allocated throughout the year.
