Use of Compression Garments during Matches
As the below initiative (and the attached documents) could be considered a relatively new interpretation of a topic that has long caused confusion (with local rules previously being applied) the Sutherland Shire Football Referees Assoc (SSFRA) have provided the following guidelines:
1. The SSFRA will accept players wearing Compression garments that are the 'same group of a basic colour' rather than a specific colour match.
2. The SSFRA will not accept black or white garments if they are different to the basic colour.
3. The SSFRA will accept full length garments. that is players are not restricted to knee length shorts.
4. The SSFRA will accept different colours of garments within the team if they conform with the previous requirements.
The SSFRA will insist that all non compliant garments must not be visible during play. The offending player will be asked to leave the field of play as per Law 4.
